Lexan™ 8B35 - velvet / matt
Lexan™ 8B35 is a high quality polycarbonate (PC) film that is produced by Sabic. The transparent PC film has a velvet / matt surface. Lexan™ 8B35 is characterized by an excellent dimensional stability, an outstanding mechanical strength and impact resistance, high temperature resistance and a very good printability without pre- treatment. It is available in thicknesses between 125 µm and 500 µm and is offered in rolls or sheets.

Makrofol® DE 6-2 - velvet / very fine matt
Makrofol® DE 6-2 000000 is a translucent film based on Makrolon®, the Hightech polycarbonate (PC) made by Covestro. The dazzle free and scratch resistant film has been developed especially for graphic applications and comprises an unique surface combination fine velvet-very fine matte. Makrofol® DE 6-2 000000 is available in various standard thicknesses from 125 - 500 µm and can be offered in rolls or sheets. Typical applications of this polycarbonate film are instrument panels, displays, control panels, nameplates, dials, scales, LCD displays and automotive interior decoration.

Makrofol® DE 1-4 - fine matt / polished
Makrofol® DE 1-4 000000 is a translucent extrusion film based on Makrolon®, the High Tech polycarbonate (PC) made by Covestro. It comprises all of the well known advantages of Poylcarbonate such as excellent mechanical and optical properties. The surface combination of Makrofol® DE 1-4 000000 is one side gloss - one side very fine matte. The PC film stands out due to its good printing quality and formability. It is suitable for High Pressure Forming process (HPF) and Film-Insert-Molding process (FIM). The polycarbonate film is available in various standard thicknesses from 125 - 500 µm and can be offered in rolls or sheets.

Matt polycarbonate films
As a specialist for technical films, the König Film Centre offers you a wide range of matt polycarbonate films of the following brands:
- Lexan ® (from the manufacturer Sabic ®).
- Makrofol ® (from the manufacturer Covestro ®).
Matt PC films offer the great advantage of an anti-reflective and scratch-resistant surface. Unwanted reflections in interior applications do not occur with matt polycarbonate films in comparison to polished films. Scratch protection is important in all applications where people frequently touch and handle the film element, such as keyboard elements.
The colourless polycarbonate films are available in various surface structures. The palette ranges from a fine matt surface to velvet matt films to a coarsely structured sand grain surface. An interesting feature is the unique brushed structure of the Lexan 8A37 film, which allows for unique and enormously noble surfaces. In addition, we offer our PC films with matt finish on one or both sides. One-sided matt films offer the advantage that the reverse side is polished and can be printed particularly homogeneously. When inversely printed, the print is protected by the film and therefore cannot be scratched off.
We offer the matt polycarbonate films in thicknesses from 125 µm to 500 - without protection film. Properties of matt polycarbonate films
Polycarbonate (PC) is a plastic with migh mechanical resistance and stability to high temperatures. PC is characterised by the following properties:

- impact resistance and mechanical strength.
- temperature resistance from - 40 °C to 130 °C (continuous use temperature of 105 °C).
- distinct dimensional stability.

How do I process PC films?
Matt polycarbonate films can be printed well and consistently. Printing is possible by screen printing, printing with UV-curable inks and other printing methods. They can be cut, punched, lasered (with limitations), embossed and glued. Our polycarbonate films are also suitable for back injection, thermoforming, the insert moulding process (FIM) and high pressure forming (HPF). All PC films we offer can be cold and hot formed.
No special accessories or tools are required for processing matt polycarbonate films.
Surfaces and thicknesses
We offer Makrofol® and Lexan® matt polycarbonate films in thicknesses from 125 µm to 500 µm. The surface structure of matt polycarbonate films ranges from a fine matt over a velvet texture to a rough grain matt. Furthermore, we also offer one side matt and one side polished polycarbonate films.
