Valox™ FR1

VALOX™ FR 1 is a flame retardant film out of thermoplastic polybutylene, terephtalite (PBT) and polycarbonate. It is UL94 VTM-0 certified and offers a good temperature performance. Its outstanding dielectric strength and ease of processing makes it suitable for a wide range of electrical, electronic and medical applications. Other key features of VALOX™ film are low moisture absorbance and chemical resistance which make it suitable for usage in EMI/RFI shields. The white PBT-PC film is available in 250 µm and 500 µm as rolls and sheets.

Bayfol® CR 1-4 000000 is an extruded film based on a blend of Makrolon (Polycarbonate) / Pocan (PBT) comprising high dynamic strength, good cold formability and increased chemical resistance. The surface combination is one side gloss - one side fine matt. The PBT-PC film Bayfol® CR 1-4 is available in various thicknesses and is offered in rolls and sheets. Typical applications are membrane switch overlays, nameplates, keypads and touch panels.

Bayfol® CR 6-2 000000 is a dazzle-free extruded film based on a blend of Makrolon® (Polycarbonate) / Pocan (PBT) with high dynamic strength, increased chemical resistance, good cold formability and high scratch resistance. The surface structure is one side fine velvet, one side very fine matt. The PBT-PC film Bayfol® CR 6-2 000000 is available in various standard thicknesses and is offered in rolls and sheets. Typical applications are membrane switch overlays, nameplates, keypads and touch panels.

PBT films for high performance applications

Films with an excellent resistance against heat and chemicals

Polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) films offer a high resistance against temperatures / heat and chemicals and a low moisture absorbance. Their outstanding dielectric strength and ease of processing make them very suitable for a wide range of electrical, electronic and medical applications. 

The films Valox® FR1 and Bayfol CR are films made of a blend of PBT and PC. PBT-PC films can be used for a wide range of electrotechnical and electronic applications.

Valox FR 1 has a UL 94 V0 listing and meets increased fire protection requirements. Typical applications for Valox FR 1 PBT-PC film include insulation of memory drives, power supplies, bus bars, TV and other screens, PC cards and office machines. The film is also suitable for laminated EMC/ RFI shielding.

Bayfol CR is a PC/PBT blend based film with a dynamic strength and an high resistance to chemicals. Typical applications are membrane switches, nameplates, keypads and control panels. The film has good cold-forming properties in the high-pressure forming (HPF) process and has been established in film insert moulding (FIM) for many years. Bayfol® films can be printed in brilliant colours using screen printing and offset printing with commercially available inks that are suitable for polycarbonate.
