Properties of Folex Polyester Films

For the production of membrane keyboards, signs and labels, the manufacturer Folex offers coated polyester films that can be screen-printed or digitally printed. The portfolio includes both decorative films with special surfaces and electrically conductive films. The special films are, among other things, enormously tear-resistant and chemical resistant. Therefore, these films are used for surface protection applications, but also for the production of industrial signs and labels. As a specialist for technical films, we offer you our transparently or matt PET products cut to size into sheets or in rolls.

Are Folex films printable?

A polyester film (material polyethylene terephthalate) normally is not printable. However, Folex quality products have a special surface coating that ensures excellent and consistent printing results. Folex produces films with different printing pre-treatments. These include the conventional items for use in screen printing, but also a range of products specifically for digital printing. The coating makes, the Folex polyester film ideally suitable for digital printing, screen printing and similar uses.

Is Folex film heat stable?

Polyester (PET) products have a high temperature / heat stability and can be used permanently at temperatures from - 70 °C up to 150 °C. The melting point of the heat resistant films is over 200 °C.

Processing of Folex films

PET films and media can be processed in various ways. These include the possibility of cutting, laser cutting (cut any shape on a laser machine / laser cutter), punching, bending, printing or heat sealing the films. Folex films can also be made self adhesive (using adhesive tapes) or antistatic. Under normal conditions, crystal-clear transparent PET film shows good ageing behaviour and does not become brittle, as it does not contain any plasticisers. Deformation under heat can be realised to a limited extent with Folex films.
