The polyester film MYLAR A is a transparent hazy, flexible and exceptionally strong and durable polyester film with an exceptional range of properties that make it suitable for many industrial and general electronis applications. Mylar A polyester film is a flexible, strong and durable film with an unusual balance of properties that make it suitable for many industrial applications. Mylar A is a robust general purpose film available in thicknesses from 19 µm to 480 µm. In thicknesses of 190µm and above, the film is hazy.

Mylar A offers high resistance to tension, tearing and impact. It is inert to water, resistant to steam and impervious to oils, greases and volatile aromatic compounds. The MYLAR A film retains all of these remarkable properties and remains tough and flexible at temperatures from -70°C. to over 150°C. As MYLAR A contains no plasticisers, it does not become brittle with ageing under normal conditions.

The specific technical functions allow MYLAR A to be used as a support for microfilms and magnetic tapes, electrical insulator for capacitors, motors, membrane switches, cables and wires, physical barrier in label sheets and book covers, thermal barrier in insulating tapes for cables and conductors or as an aid in hot stamping.
