Lexan 8040 is a polycarbonate film that is FDA approved and meets the requirements for sterile medical packaging. It is characterized by an outstanding optical clarity, a high mechanical strength and impact resistance, a consistent printability as well as an ease of processing. Both sides are polished - a protection film on both sides ensures that the film is protected against scratches. The polycarbonate film LEXAN 8040 ensures a top quality performance and allows the contact with food products. It is offered in different thicknesses and rolls or sheets.

Main applications of Lexan™ 8040 are medical blister packagings, body shape implants packagings, instrument tray sets, chocolate moulds and food packagings. Key benefits are the FDA / USP Class VI compliance, a true color reproduction, an excellent depth effect with no loss of vividness in second-surface printing, easy formability, excellent printability and an increased pencil hardness. The high resistance to temperatures makes the polycarbonate film ideal for applications with temperatures of up to 130°C.
